The Caribbean possessions of England are an overseas miracle, an endless summer, a daydream. They represent several territories, including islands of different sizes:

West Indies

Historically, the group of western Caribbean islands is commonly referred to as the West Indies. It is located between the two Americas, uniting the Caribbean lands, the Bahamas, partly the Gulf Islands and continental ones. The total area of the West Indian archipelago is 244,890 km²: the Bahamas are 14,535 km², the Lesser and Greater Antilles are 14,095 km² and 216,260 km², respectively.

Anguilla

Isle Anguilla - a self-governing English territory measuring 91 km². It consists of fifteen islands of different sizes, the most remote of which is Sombrero. The administrative center of the semi-independent state is the town of Valley. Anguilla is separated from its closest neighbor, Puerto Rico, by just over 300 km.

Montserrat

Isle Montserrat, occupying 102 km², has several names: Emerald Lands, Abandoned Country, Caribbean Pompeii, Allihuagana. Already from the names you can understand that a vacation in a sunny corner of the Caribbean will be colorful, rich, and bright. Montserrat neighbors Antigua and Barbuda, Guadeloupe, Saint Kitts and Nevis. One of the main natural attractions is the grandiose Soufriere Hills volcano, which came to life at the end of the 20th century.

Cayman Island

The sonorous Virginian trio of Grand Cayman, Little Cayman and Cayman Brac is called the Cayman Islands. These parts have the deepest depths in the Caribbean, which is why the creators of the stunning “The Abyss” chose this area for filming. The total scale of the colorful trio is 264 km², the islands of Jamaica and Cuba flourish nearby, and Miami is a little further away.

Big Cayman

Isle Big Cayman It’s not without reason that it’s compared to a tourist paradise – pristine nature, gorgeous beaches, varied landscape, excellent service. Its contours resemble a crushed gigantic whale, and its territory (197 km²) is several times larger than its “brothers”.

Little Cayman

Isle Little Cayman very compact - only 31 km². Those in love with eco-tourism come here to enjoy the natural beauty, take unique photos, and immerse themselves in Caribbean nirvana, untouched by civilization. Extreme sports fans appreciate the area for its excellent diving conditions.

Cayman-Marriage

Isle Cayman-Marriage - the wildest of the entire geographical triad, the dimensions of the rocky crumb are only 38 km². Velvety beaches, intricate coral gardens, the splendor of the underwater kingdom, and the gentle climate - all this attracts travelers who dream of a secluded holiday.

Turks and Caicos

Turks and Caicos is a collection of thirty islands (of which only seven are inhabited) in the southeastern region of the Bahamas. Grand Turk is considered the most popular. Geographically, the British overseas possessions are divided into two subgroups: western Cayos and eastern Turks, with a total area of 430 km².

Grand-Turk

Grand Turk Island thrives in the central Lesser Caribbean and is one of two territories of French Guadeloupe. Grande-Terre is translated as a large land, which is justified by the dimensions of the fragrant Eden - 586 km².

Virgin Islands

The British Virgin Islands are extremely popular among travelers. Of the thirty-six territories (total scale 153 km²) belonging to the overseas possessions of Great Britain, only sixteen are inhabited. These wonderful lands are different, but all are charming and original.

Tortola

Isle Tortola, which is the largest of the British Virgin possessions, is located in the ridge of the Lesser Antilles. The size of the mountainous beauty is 55 km², if you add the territories of nearby islands, then the total scale reaches 60 km². Mount Sage rises 530 meters and is far visible from the ocean.

Anegada

Isle Anegada is the northernmost point in the vast chain of the Lesser Caribbean and Virgin Islands. The dimensions of the sunken island - this is how Anegada is translated - 38 km². The landscape, unlike the mountainous Tortola, is quite flat, the highest areas barely reaching eight meters. The nearest Virgin Gorda is about 30 km away.

Virgin Gorda

Isle Virgin Gorda translated very colorfully - a plump woman. The smooth contours of the land reminded the traveling Columbus of the magnificent figure of a young lady, hence the unusual name. The Caribbean pearl is part of the Lesser Antilles, occupying the third position in terms of mileage among the British-Virginian possessions - 21 km², and the second in terms of population - more than 3,000 people.

Yost-Van-Dyke

Isle Yost-Van-Dyke owes its name to its Dutch pirate namesake. Centuries later, the miniature Caribbean corner has transformed from a corsair's refuge into a hospitable area that delights travelers with stunning recreational conditions all year round. Despite its miniature size (8 km²), it ranks fourth among the British Virgin Islands.

All the Caribbean islands of England are different: noisy and cheerful and pastoral, hilly and flat, large-scale and cozy small.
