To get to Trinidad, you should head towards the Lesser Caribbean Islands. The land, located off the northeastern coast of South America, is washed by the gentle waters of the Caribbean Sea. Trinidad is the largest (4,821 km²) of all the islands owned by the state Trinidad and Tobago. Its width is slightly less than 60 km, length – 80 km. The northern coast of Trinidad is fringed by coral reefs, while the southern coast is lined with tropical evergreen forests called mangroves. The famous mud volcanoes are also located here. The landscape of the swampy eastern part is mostly flat, with two small ridges running parallel to each other, at the highest points not exceeding 300 meters. The Northern Territory boasts larger hills, with Mount Aripo having a height of 940 m.

The Caribbean island looks like a fantastic dream come true thanks to its incredibly bright colors. The protection of natural heritage here is at the highest level. Lush vegetation that can exist in salty soils in the tidal zones, balsa, cactus, sandalwood, zedrel, vanilla, cypress, the rare butterfly orchid, groves of coconut palms, cocoa plantations - it is problematic to list all the plants of Trinidad. Hummingbirds, of which there are more than forty species on the island, flutter over the flowering bushes, and there are caimans, bats, possums, agoutis, capuchins, and iguanas. But no matter how rich the land world of the island is, it pales in comparison to the fabulous splendor of the underwater kingdom of the Caribbean.

The average temperature on the island is quite even in any season - plus 26˚. During the hot, dry period from February to May, when the sun warms the air to 31˚, fresh trade winds prevent you from sweltering from the heat. The rainy period is the summer months and autumn. Another plus is that Trinidad is located outside the zone of destructive hurricanes.
