Venezuelan Coche is located in the Caribbean near the country's largest island, Margarita Island, being part of a single province. Compared to its famous neighbor, the size of Coche is small - the total area is 55 km², 11 km long, and only 6 km wide.
All six towns of the island, including the capital San Pedro de Coche, are on the coast. The population is just under nine thousand people, the main occupations are fishing and tourism.
